Improvements made to Redwood Speedway in 2014

Prior to laying down 1,300 yards of new black dirt at Redwood Speedway, all the rocks that were present in the old service were picked out and discarded. During this off-season we’ve made a more than concerted effort to give the drivers in each division a great racing surface to race on. Whether you’re the first event of the evening or the last, we believe with the new things we’ve implemented during the off-season that all drivers should have the opportunity to make their way to the front because a smooth, multi-grooved racetrack will be present each and every Sunday night at Redwood Speedway.

This past winter we purchased two tractors, a sheepsfoot, a rock-picker, a disc, a digger and a Lely roterra (similar to a tiller). This allows us to control the track conditions which in turns gives the drivers a better playground to play on and the fans a better show to watch in the end.

Planned Continued Improvements (looking into)

At this moment we are looking at obtaining a 10,000 gallon water tank to hold water which would allow us to increase the speed of filling trucks. This in turn would keep the speed of the program running smoothly.

Before the race season starts we plan to paint the whole entire retaining wall white (in color) to make more improvements to the facilities.

We have also talked to a few people about adding some lights. We will keep you informed as information becomes readily available to us.

This year we are going to do a kid’s club. The kids will have the chance to tour the pits, meet the drivers, ask questions to the competitors and do other activities that we’ll plan as the year goes on. If you have any ideas that your kid would like to do, feel free to email brent@rvre.com.

We will once again be having our “Jam the Stands” Promotion. You can read more about it in the schedule section below. That of course means that one night this season will be free admission to all who would like to attend the races from the grandstand.

We are also planning to have a Salute to the Vets night at the racetrack. On this night all vets will be admitted into the races for free and with the help of sponsors (that we’re currently finding) the rest of the adults will be admitted for just $5.00.

We are hoping to have a tremendous year at Redwood Speedway and we hope you come out and be a part of it with us. It looks as if the 2014 season is going to be a great one with some new events complementing the ones that we’ve put on at the speedway for many years. If you have any questions, as always you can contact Brent Prouty at brent@rvre.com. Thanks to all the drivers, fans, pit crew members and sponsors that make it all possible, you truly are the best and we’re going to try and give you what you deserve during the upcoming season!
